WAF looks for impersonator

The search continues for a person who pretended to be an employee of Water Authority of Fiji and collected money from the people in Lautoka.

The Authority says the man has been visiting homes and telling the consumers that the amnesty period has almost ended and he was there to collect payments.

The impersonator also told the people who had arrears that if they will not make payments to him, he would immediately disconnect their water supply.

WAF chief executive Opetaia Ravai says the Authority is not be responsible for any payments done other than those made to the Authority’s cashiers and authorized partners.

Ravai has warned the people to make payments only to authorized outlets or WAF cashiers and demand for an official receipt.

Consumers are also advised to note the person’s identity and report the matter to the Police or call the Authority on 3346 777.
