Three hundred and forty-nine point three million dollars was allocated to the Water Authority of Fiji from 2018/2019 national budget last week.

This comprises of $102.8m for operating expenditure and $246.5m for capital expenditure.

Some of the ongoing initiatives that was announced by Government include the expanding access to water and wastewater reticulation systems and providing access to safe drinking water in rural and peri-urban areas.

WAF will also focus on improving operational efficiency, resilience and sustainability.
