Vunisea jetty damaged yet again

April 2, 2012 9:02 pm

The Vunisea jetty in Kadavu has been damaged by the strong currents overnight.

Kadavu Provincial Administrator, Samuela Delai says this prevented the Lomaiviti Princess from berthing this morning.

“The Lomaiviti Princess tried to berth at the Vunisea Jetty cause way but it has been damaged as we had experienced strong winds, high waves and heavy rain last night. To people in the villages, please refrain from going out to sea under the current adverse weather conditions. The Lomaiviti Princess has returned to Suva.”

Delai says the rain and strong winds has ceased while the seas are still rough.
