Vuniboko District School gets new facilities

It was a joyous day for students and teachers of Vuniboko District School in Verata, Tailevu.

This after they were handed new facilities from the government of Japan.

Ambassador of Japan to Fiji Masahiro Omura says education is the foundation of the national building and the development of the school will significantly contribute towards Fiji’s national development and prosperity.

Omura says the newly constructed buildings and teachers quarters have a category five cyclone certification, which means it should be able to withstand a cyclone similar to TC Winston.

He says these facilities will help the school enhance the delivery of quality education to its students.

Omura adds the project will also restore normalcy to the school’s affected resources and facilities such as the library being used as a classroom and enable it to serve its original purpose.

The facilities will cater to more than 130 students from the communities of Kumi village, Navunimono village, Naivuruvuru village.

Meanwhile, the cost of the project is over $900, 000.
