October 7, 2015 12:58 am

Residents of Vuda outside Lautoka have discussed their concerns about a spate of criminal activities in the area with the Divisional Police Commander West Marika Kotoisuva.

The residents requested a meeting because they are concerned about the how long it takes for police to attend to reports of crimes.

Vuda resident, Steve Truscott says his house has been burgled four times in a span of one and a half months.

On two occasions, his family was inside the house when thieves broke into it.

Truscott told a meeting last night that residents feel their neighborhood is not safe anymore.

Kotoisuva assured the resident that a special team led by Lautoka Police Station Commander, Henry Steele is looking into their concerns.

He says police will increase their presence in the Vuda area.

The residents have scheduled another meeting with police next Wednesday to discuss the progress of their concerns.
