VRC now open to the public

The Voter Registration Centres are now open to the public.

In Suva, registration is taking place at the Suva Civic Centre and the Fiji National University Campus in Samabula.

In Nausori – people are to go to the Syria Park Podium under the old Nausorri Bridge and the Commissioner Central’s Complex at the Tailevu Provincial Holdings Building.

Registration is also taking place at the Elections Office in Lautoka.

In Levuka – the Levuka Town Hall is open for registrations.

In the North – people are to go for registration at the Commissioner Northern’s Complex in Labasa and the District Officer’s Office in Waiyevo Taveuni.

All those 18 years and over are to register and bring along a valid identification – either a birth certificate, driver’s licence, FNPF card, Passport or any employment card carrying a photo ID.

Registration at these centres starts from 8am to 7pm from today until Sunday.

Some other centres will be opened in other parts of the country at various times for registration.

The registration process is expected to last eight months.
