A new mobile application called “Vodo Fiji” can now be downloaded from Google play and it can link those looking for a taxi in a matter of seconds.
The app is currently available in the Lautoka area and there are plans to roll it out in Suva and Nadi soon.
Vodo Fiji Co-founder, Lance Millar says the core focus of the app is to make traveling safer and easier.
“For those people who use taxis a lot it’s just an easy way to pick up a taxi. You know it will work out your rate for you, it just makes your work a lot easier for everybody who is online who has a smart phone.”
Millar says basic information such as pick-up and destination points, the driver’s name and taxi plate is shared between the parties.
He adds more than a hundred local drivers are now on the app with close to two hundred passengers using it.
