The Fijian iTaukei registry, the ‘Vola ni Kawa Bula’ is ready to go online making access to information on your Vanua, Mataqali and Yavusa as easy as the click of a button.

Solicitor General and Acting Permanent Secretary for Communications Sharvada Sharma says the tool is being put through its final run through.

“Digitalization of indigenous Fijians records, the Vola ni Kawa Bula or VKB birth records for indigenous land owning units is on the verge of completion and information will be available on real time basis, this will greatly assist indigenous Fijians in many ways including assisting other entities such as the iTaukei land trust board, distribution of proceeds such as rent and royalties.”

Bridging the digital divide, Sharma says this reform is also in line with digitizing the registration of land titles which is expected to be more efficient as well as the registration of companies and businesses.
