Villagers urged to apply for EFL shares

Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has encouraged the villagers of Sautabu in Sigatoka to apply for free shares in Energy Fiji Limited.

Speaking at the launch of Project Aqua, Sayed-Khaiyum reminded the villagers they still have time to get their shares if they are EFL’s domestic account holders.

He also explained the benefits of applying for shares.

“The Fijian government is giving that to you for free. It is also giving you a form of an asset because once you own shares in Energy Fiji Limited you become a shareholder and roundabout next year if you want you can sell those shares. You can get money for that and you can invest yourself or alternatively which we encourage you to do is to hold on to shares and get dividends paid.”

150 free shares are being offered to non-subsidized customers while 250 free shares are being offered to subsidized customers.
