Village headmen reminded of their roles

February 3, 2016 5:33 pm

Fifty two village headmen were yesterday reminded of their roles in a one day workshop at Wainibokasi.

The workshop was facilitated by the Eastern Division Community Policing Unit, gathered headmen from various villages in the South of Tailevu and from the Rewa Province.

Officially opening their workshop was the Divisional Police Commander Eastern Senior Superintendent of Police Maritino Qiolevu who reminded the headmen of their roles in their village boundaries.

SSP Qiolevu says in the village boundaries, people are the custodian of the law and for every offence that occurs within their jurisdiction, it is their duty to attend to them before the arrival of police.
