Village-by-laws still on hold

The ministry of I-Taukei Affairs has confirmed that the proposed village-by-laws is still with the government.

I-Taukei Affairs Permanent Secretary Naipote Katonitabua says the consultation process is still ongoing despite the halt.

“We await the minister’s instruction on the way forward.”

Katonitabua says the ministry has made a complete round of consultation in all the 14 provinces regarding the proposed village by laws.

He adds they’re awaiting the green light from the government to continue with the implantation of the laws.
