Vesidrua Bridge which is the only access linking people that travel to and from Labasa, Savusavu and Nabouwalu in Vanua Levu has been reinforced.

The single-lane wooden bridge is located along the Labasa/Nabouwalu Highway, 10km away from Seaqaqa Town.

Fulton Hogan Hiways Natua Depot Supervisor, Alifereti Cati, says the approach to the bridge from the Labasa side and the deck of the bridge were damaged because of age.

With the temporary repair to the bridge completed, the Fiji Roads Authority is now set to create a by-pass beside the Vesidrua Bridge to fortify it further.
