Vatusui residents to receive regular water supply

February 1, 2018 11:19 pm

Complaints by Fijians in Vatusui, Ba, about the frequently burst water main and low water pressure will soon end as the Water Authority of Fiji completes the final phase of the Vatusui mains extension.

The mains extension will also benefit close to another 36 families who will be linked to the WAF reticulation system.

They will have a 24/7 supply of clean and safe drinking water, available at the turn of a tap in their homes.

This will eliminate the need for water carting within the Vatusui area during the dry season.

The project work began in October last year, with the objective of having the work finished by April 2018, at a cost of $350,000.

The work has involved laying a total of 78 lengths of 100mPVC pipes with proper bedding and backfill material and a total of 153 lengths of 50mm PVC pipes.

It also included the construction of the base for the booster pump in Vatusui.
