Various artists from India to be part of Namaste Pacifika

More than a hundred artists from India will be in Fiji to be part of a six months cultural bonanza called “Namaste Pacifika."

This was confirmed by the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Vishvas Sapkal who says the event will feature Indian music, dance, drama and a culinary fest.

He also says the programme will include workshops, seminars and conferences of historical and cultural importance

“A hundred and twenty-five artists from eleven groups will be performing more than fifty events in Fiji and as well as in six other Pacific Island countries which is in our jurisdiction like Cook Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. So this is a cultural bonanza which is being arranged basically together with India at seventy. We are celebrating our seventy years of independence and whole year around the celebrations are being conducted across the world and this will be done in Fiji as well so we will be part of it.”

The festival of India will begin on the 23rd of this month till the 18th of March 2018 and various activities will be held all across the country.
