While delivering his verdict Justice Perera said that the prosecution proved their case and Vana had every intention to cause serious harm.

The High Court Judge also said there were inconsistencies in the evidence given by Vana in court and in his caution interview.

Justice Perera further stated that the act was not of self-defense.

On the 5th of April last year, Vana and his younger brother fought over a bowl of dhal which led to the death of the Suliasi Waisele.

He will be sentenced tomorrow.
