Valid permit is vital for driving instructors

Driving instructors must hold valid permits to provide driving lessons as those who fail to do so will be liable to a fine of five hundred dollars.

President of the Fiji Driving School Association’s in the Central and Eastern division Deo Narayan says a driving school is currently being investigated by the Land Transport Authority after allegedly hiring three people who did not have instructor permits to provide driving lessons.

“It’s very clear that every driving schools which is operated in Fiji should be operated with a driving instructor’s permit. You cannot hire if you hire anyone, that’s a breach and an offense that you are committing under a section so you should be penalized.”

There are one hundred and seven driving schools of which forty nine are in the Central and Eastern Division, forty four in the west while fourteen are operating in the Northern Division.
