The University of the South Pacific has partnered with the Ministry for Women Children and Poverty Alleviation for the Charity event – Bands by the Beach.

Ministry for Women Permanent Secretary Jennifer Poole says the Bands by the Beach focuses and demonstrates more about Fijian Families.

Poole says the proceeds from this charity event will be distributed equally to the children’s home and the non-governmental organizations.

She says this is all part of the move to building a better future for Fijian families.

“This collaboration is also unique because it establishes grounds for connectedness with the people, giving back gives us feelings of satisfaction and most appropriately, defines a proactive measure to ignite change & making a positive impact in the community in Fiji.”

The Ministry will also have a child help booth at the event, along with a team from Medical Services Pacific providing child support and other advice.

The charity event is scheduled for the 29 June from 2pm to 8pm at the USP Marine Campus Foreshore.
