Students have been encouraged to study at the University of the South Pacific because of its reputation internationally and in the region.

USP Vice Chancellor Professor Rajesh Chandra says from 2013 the University will transform from good to an excellent standard.

He says USP is seeking American accreditation.

“Our programmes are recognise internationally and are now being accredited by industry quality bodies and our quality is being monitored by the same body that audits the quality of Australian universities.”

Chandra says USP has also produced some outstanding professors and academics.

The comments were made at the USP’s open day today.
