Regardless of Gender and Equality people in Fiji should make sure their voices are heard as we prepare for the 2014 elections.

That was the message from US Ambassador to Fiji Frankie Reed in marking over 200 years of independence for America.

Diplomats, government representatives and business people were part of today’s Independence Day Celebrations at the US Embassy based in Princess Road.

She says their strong relationship and close ties with Fiji also speaks volumes, and US like any other country is ready to welcome Fiji back as a democratic nations.

The United States will go to the polls in November.
