The status of child health care in the country is increasing and heading in a positive direction.

US Ambassador to Fiji, Frankie Reed says she is pleased with the awareness campaign aimed at improving children’s well being.

“I must say I was struck from just coming from visiting some of the infants being cared for here and I was telling one of the Doctors it’s been 25 years now since my daughter was that size. And it’s really impressive the work that’s been done here and to those of us who have children and infants, it’s important to note how special and important the work that has been done here.”

American-owned Sustainable Mahogany Industries presented a $50,000 cheque to the CWM paediatric intensive care unit.

Reed says it will save lives especially with the vulnerability of children and it’s good to see a presentation make a tangible difference

The donation hopes to purchase equipment that can improve neo-natal and paediatric intensive care.
