The Public Service Commission has released a circular formalising the salary and wage increase of both established and un-established civil servants.
The pay increase will come into effect from 1st of January and will see an upgrade of salaries for established officers to a minimum of 10-thousand dollars per annum which will also become the starting salary for the civil service.
There will also be a 10 percent pay rise for Government wage earners, earning below 10 – thousand dollars per annum.
The wager increase will not be backdated.
The salary adjustments will benefit 1-thousand 663 salaried civil servants and 2-thousand 878 government wage earners.
The adjustments were announced by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in his 2013 budget address.
