UNSG lays wreath for fallen soldiers
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in Nasese, Suva this morning.
Guterres paid his respects for fallen soldiers in the presence of more than 100 officers from the Fiji Military Forces and Police.
He also took out time to meet with a number of retired ex-servicemen and wives’ of fallen soldiers.

In the welcome ceremony yesterday, the UNSG had highlighted that Fijians are well known for their determination and courage in peacekeeping operations.
He says that Fijian peacekeepers have made countless sacrifices in some of the most dangerous places in the world – to protect the lives of the vulnerable.
The UN top official adds that the UN has an enormous debt of gratitude to all Fijians including the Government.
