Unscrupulous traders must be wary: Brown

Police Chief of Investigation and Intelligence ACP Henry Brown says the latest drug bust at the Lautoka Wharf should serve as a warning to others.

ACP Brown says anyone involved in the importation of illicit drugs should be take note that their actions will not go unnoticed by the Intelligence Unit.

Thirty kilograms of heroin with a street value of thirty million Fijian Dollars was confiscated at the Lautoka Wharf two weeks ago.

“We in the Border Control Unit are pitching our capabilities together. So if unscrupulous traders think they can come in and take advantage of any gap that exists then they better think twice because we are strengthening that capability.”

Two men – a local and an Australian citizen have been charged in relation to the case.
