Samarasinha says his report will include recommendations on how the Pacific Island countries can move forward.

He says topics such as climate change, renewable energy, and inclusion on youth to address climate change will be discussed.

“This is an important opportunity to hear for himself but also to be able to convey message related to the challenges that countries in the Pacific face as a result of climate change.”

The UNSG will be part of a bilateral meeting with Pacific Community leaders tomorrow.

He will also visit our Parliament and climate change youth activists from the University of the South Pacific on Thursday.

On Friday he will head to Tuvalu before departing for Vanuatu on Saturday.
