Only two weeks remain before the submissions for the new flag entry comes to an end.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the deadline for flag submissions has been extended until February 29th.

The final five flag designs will be announced in March before the public will be consulted on their preferences.

Bainimarama is encouraging all Fijians to submit designs and participate in the public consultations.

He says the flag is for everyone and it’s only right that everyone have a chance to have their say.

The new flag will then be raised on September 7th-Fiji’s Constitution Day
