Two students have been charged and will be appearing at the Nadi Magistrates court for their alleged involvement in a sexual assault case that went viral on social media.
Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro, says the first accused a seventeen-year-old has been charged with one count of abduction of a girl below the age of eighteen-years and one count of defilement between the age of thirteen and eighteen years.
The second accused also a seventeen-year-old has been charged with one count of trafficking of obscene publication.
A video was uploaded on Facebook in which the accused and the victim are seen involved in sexual activity.
The victim’s father had lodged an official complaint following this at the Namaka Police Station.
Both will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court this afternoon.
