Two people have reportedly died and two others are missing after a storm surge swept through the village of Nasau on Koro Island.
This is possibly the first communication link that anyone has been able to make with the remote island in the Lomaiviti.
Speaking exclusively to FBC News, Savenaca Vueti of Nacamaki, Koro says people from nearby villagers have been turning up to the nursing station with injuries sustained during TC Winston.
Vueti says these people have relayed news that two children are believed to have died and were buried yesterday.
Two people on Koro Island are also reported missing.
Vueti confirms they continue to receive reports of injuries and damage on the island.
It must be noted that these are unconfirmed deaths and have not been added to our earlier report of 10 casualties from the West.
