Both bridges were opened by the Prime Minister.

The opening of the Stinson Parade Bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion faced by motorists who travel around the city everyday while the Vatuwaqa Bridge is expected to ease traffic from the Vatuwaqa and Laucala bay areas.

The Prime Minister says Fiji has faced a lot of traffic due to the closure of both bridges but that will change from today.

Both bridges were closed for more than two years.

The bridges were scheduled to open around mid-year however work has been quick which enabled it to be opened five months early.

Traffic will begin flowing from Stinson Parade Bridge at 2pm while traffic at the Vatuwaqa Bridge is easily flowing.
