Basic Industries Limited has identified two locations in the Central Division to be developed into gated communities.
Group Chief Executive, Nouzab Fareed says these communities will be outside Lami and Nakasi containing four hundred houses.
Fareed says the houses are designed for middle income earners.
“In Fiji we don’t have a lot of gated communities. We’ve got one or two small ones but this is going to be maybe hundreds of houses gated communities. We want to build and replicate a sort of Denarau here in Suva.”
Basic Industries is working with an international company to assist in developing a model for residential lots.
Fareed says at this stage the project is still a concept.
However, once the land is secured, the Company will find an appropriate partner to move the project forward.
Meanwhile Basic Industries is in the process of constructing three hundred houses for the Housing Authority.
