Two men appeared in court this afternoon charged with escape from lawful custody.

Tevita Sugu and Josaia Usumaki were part of the five Naboro escapees.

These are the first lot to be brought to court, while the other three remain in hospital.

Sugu asked that the prosecution provide him with a medical report for the time when he was admitted at the CWM Hospital.

State prosecutors have asked for the matter to be referred to the High court.

They’ve been remanded at Korovou Corrections Centre until Monday.

A third person, who was allegedly part of a spate of robberies also appeared with them.

Rajeshwar Datt has been remanded at the Totogo Police Station and the matter’s been transferred to the High Court this Friday.
