Two children and a man admitted after road accidents

Two children are admitted at the CWM Hospital following two separate accidents on Friday.

The first incident occurred when a 14-year-old student residing in Kalabu was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old taxi driver along the Nasinu Road in Valelevu.

The 14-year-old victim is alleged to have suddenly ran to the middle of the road when he was hit by the taxi driver.

He sustained injuries and is admitted in stable condition.

In the second incident an 11-year-old student of Tacirua was hit by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man after he allegedly crossed the road from behind a parked bus.

The 11-year-old victim remains admitted at the CWM hospital in stable condition as investigations continue in both cases.

Meanwhile, in the 3rd incident, a 49-year-old man from Vuda is admitted at the Lautoka Hospital in stable condition after he was allegedly hit by bus yesterday.

The victim was allegedly drinking with friends when he wanted to stop a bus and went onto the middle lane and was instead hit by a bus.

The victim sustained injuries and was conveyed to the Lautoka Hospital where he remains admitted as investigations continue.

Police are urging the public to be aware that as pedestrians, they are responsible for their own safety and need to be alert at all times.
