Two charged for allegedly stealing school funds

Two people have been charged for allegedly colluding to defraud the Suva Grammar School and the Ministry of Education.

Ratnesh Chandar a former Executive Officer at the Ministry of Education and Bursar with the Suva Grammar School is charged with Abuse of Office and Causing a Loss.

It’s alleged that Chandar facilitated false payment of almost $65,000 to Incredible IT Solutions for the supply of stationery to Suva Grammar School.

Shiu Raman, the Director of Incredible IT Solutions is charged with Obtaining a Financial Advantage.

Raman is alleged to have provided false documents for the purchase of stationery worth $64,920 for the Suva Grammar School.

Both have been released on bail with the case to be called in the Suva Magistrates Court next month.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption alleges the fraud took place between October and November 2012.
