A fisherman and a gardener charged with two counts each of being in possession of illicit drugs were produced at the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Pita Fong and Solomoni Boini were arrested over the weekend following a raid in Namadi Heights Suva.

The court heard that the first accused without lawful authority, allegedly had possession of 12.9 grams methamphetamine and 0.9 grams of marijuana while the second accused had 0.1 grams methamphetamine and 4.7 grams of marijuana.

The alleged incident happened on December 2nd.

Prosecution objected to bail for both the accused saying they might interfere with the witnesses.

Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa will make the bail ruling tomorrow morning.
