Police say the two were arrested in the early hours of the morning along Victoria Parade in Suva by officers on patrol.

The two were allegedly intoxicated and were threatening to kill the officers and continued swearing despite being repeatedly warned and asked to clear the area.

The two also allegedly confronted the officers and in the process damaged the accessory vest belonging to one of the arresting officer’s while verbally abusing another.

Both are charged with drunk and disorderly behavior and resisting arrest.

Ratu Veiwili is charged with an additional count of serious assault while Ro Veidovi Loanakadavu is charged with one count of damaging property.

The defense told the court that they will rely on the caution interview where the two have partially agreed to their charges.

The case has been adjourned to February 26th for mention.
