Tuvatu Gold Mine to be fully operational by 2019

The opening of the Tuvatu Gold Mine in Sabeto, Nadi yesterday will see increased employment opportunities and a boost to the economy.

Minister for Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya says the beginning of the construction of the mill and processing plant is a positive sign, as it portrays the commitment of Tuvatu Gold Mine to produce to its full capacity by the second quarter of 2019.

“The finances committed by the company to date has amounted to approximately $100m in various forms of operations such as exploration, propriety plans and environmental measures and of course contributed towards the economy and currently the company employs at least 50 workers and 3 expats and this will increase in the future.”

The Tuvatu Gold Mine is owned by Lion One Limited Mines.
