In a bid to recognise the success of young and individual micro-entrepreneurs, micro business partnerships and micro-service providers -the Reserve Bank hosted a Microfinance Awards in Suva yesterday.
Young entrepreneur award winner, Tadulala Tuinamoala from Matuku, Lau says she started the business to uplift the standard of living in her village.
Tainamoala ventured into entrepreneurship by engaging the youth in her village.
She also reiterated some of the challenges faced throughout her journey.
“I faced transportation problems since it’s in the village and also communication as I have to come to the urban to get more support especially financially.”
She says she is passionate about her village based business and is working towards alleviating poverty.
Meanwhile, MSME’s provides bulk of employment in the country and supports economic growth.
