Police Commissioner Bernadus Groenevald has raised issues regarding the security of ballot boxes during the election in September.

And Chief of Operations – ACP Rusiate Tudravu says they are discussing the commissioner’s concerns with the Elections Supervisor.

“He has raised some very critical questions just to clarify our roles.
Even though it’s not stipulated in the Electoral Decree but there are some areas that the Police have to come in like the storage, transportation of ballot boxes. But is depends on how the Supervisor of Elections will decide.”

Tudravu says they expect to meet with FICAC sometime this week to clarify the investigating role each organization will play in the election.
