Trump to nominate Michigan consultant as Ambassador to Fiji

US President Donald Trump is expected to nominate Joseph Cella to serve as the next US Ambassador to Fiji.

Cella is a Michigan consultant who helped coordinate and led the Trump campaigns Catholic advisory council during the 2016 election.

If approved by the Senate he will serve as Ambassador to Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu.

He has served as principal of a consulting firm since 2010 and co-founded the Catholic advocacy organization Catholic Vote which has grown to more than 700,000 members.

Cella will replace outgoing Ambassador Judith Cefkin.
