The low pressure system near Fiji has developed into a Tropical Disturbance.
The Nadi Weather Office confirms Tropical Disturbance TD04F was located about 75 kilometres South-Southwest of Rotuma or about 520 kilometres North of Nadi at 1pm today.
A heavy rain alert remains in force for Fiji and localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding
TD04F is currently slow moving and an associated trough of low pressure affects Fiji.
The system is slowly deepening and is expected to become a Tropical Depression tomorrow, and move Southeast towards the Fiji Group.
At this stage, TD04F has a low to moderate or 20 to 50% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters.
Occasional rain is forecast over most places with isolated thunderstorms, heavy falls and squally thunderstorms from later tomorrow.
