Transportation issues cause delay in supply of free text books

The Ministry of Education has confirmed transportation problem is a contributing factor to the delay of supply of text books to some schools in the maritime zone.

Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy told FBC News all the schools had received their text books but only some need more to cater for the number of students in schools.

The Ministry has had to reprint some text books.

Reddy is advising teachers to make sure text books are shared amongst those who have yet to receive theirs.

In January this year government announced that the Ministry of Education will be providing the free text books to all schools.

The text books were to have reached the schools by April at the latest.
