The Fiji Sugar Corporation will do its best to ensure less derailment of rail trucks which are used to cart cane during the next crushing season.
FSC Executive Chair Abdul Khan, told FBC News that derailed carts have caused damage to infrastructure and assets as well as loss of sugarcane.
Khan says the Corporation will be spending lot of money in the off-season to repair tram lines on the advice of the engineers.
He adds the FSC is looking for around 3 to 4 million tonnes of cane supplied to all mills by the year 2022 and for this to happen, we need more locomotives and tram lines.
