Training targets upskilling community members

A two-week training focusing on sustainable livelihood is currently being held at the Tacirua Primary School.

The training is in partnership with the Southern Division Community Policing, the Fiji National University and the Naitasiri Provincial Council.

Members of the Tacirua community are undertaking skills training in areas such as basic business management, commercial floriculture, domestic electric installation, screen printing, child care and elderly care, free-hand garment construction and basic cookery and patisseries to name a few.

FNU Project Coordinator Setareki Valenitabua says the initiative is aimed at bridging the gap of vocational training.

The training ends next week Friday.
