Traditional leaders reminded of duty

Traditional leaders in Macuata have been reminded of their duty to bring up and teach young people not to be reliant on help and assistance from others.

Opening the Macuata Provincial Council meeting in Labasa this morning, Assistant Minister for Itaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga, stated it is important for young people to be resilient as the world is moving at a fast pace.

Adimaitoga urged the leaders to instill in the hearts of future leaders that prosperity comes with loving and looking out for those that matter to us.

She adds, if this does not happen then we should not at any time question why certain things happen

Adimaitoga stated the Ministry stands ready to assist in the betterment of the people.

She has also urged the leaders to see that the use of marijuana is curbed, yaqona theft is stopped and the mixing and drinking of homebrew is prohibited.
