Trade Unions to receive letters from FEO

The Fijian Elections Office has prepared letters which will be sent to all trade unions organization registered with the registrar of trade unions.

The letters contain the guidelines of the trade unions elections and a notice of intention to hold the elections.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says the letters will be sent to the FEO after its filled.

“The union reps or the secretariat will have to complete this form and forward it to the supervisor of elections at least 6 weeks before the date proposed for the union election and the information required will have to be therefore put into a form to allow the FEO to start the process.”

The Election Day will be dependent on the Trade Union constitution, elections will be held on the date they choose.

However, the notice to the elections office will have to be at least six weeks prior elections, so the FEO can do the necessary preparations.
