An Indian national who made a hoax bomb threat at the Nadi International Airport has been fined two thousand dollars.

Swarup Das pleaded guilty to Threats and False Statement Respecting Aircraft, and said he was only joking with the Customs Officer at the airport.

The Nadi Magistrates Court fined him saying even though it was a joke – it was an indiscriminate threat to men, women and children.
