Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya says the tourism industry is open for business despite the effects of TD 04F.

Koya says while the tropical depression has not directly affected the hotel industry – many town areas were affected which could hinder supplies.

He adds government will continue to focus on developing infrastructure for the tourism industry.

“In terms of the entire tourism sector, the government has set a target of about 2.2billon industry by the end of 2021. The ministry is in the final stages of completing our tourism plans that will set the guidelines for development in the tourism industry.”

Koya says the entire tourism sector is performing well despite the cyclone this year.
