“Today’s world is increasingly becoming connected and interdependent with digital advancements.
This was the message from the Minister of Tourism Faiyaz Koya while opening the World Tourism Day Seminar in Rakiraki this morning.
Koya told the participants that not only new tools are needed but also new capacities and ways of thinking in the tourism industry to be able to capitalise on Fiji’s position as the regional hub and ensure continued sustainable growth.
He says the main objective of the seminar is to encourage inclusive participation and sustainable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) growth.
Koya say like tourism, technology is very dynamic and equally vibrant.
He says it is essentially about connecting people and places and today, digitalisation has left no segment of the travel ecosystem untouched.
