Tourists at Tokoriki Island Resort in the Mamanucas are safe.

The confirmation comes from Resort Manager Robert Ring.

Ring told FBC News – some tourists have left the resort while they safely sheltering others who have chosen to remain.

“It’s fairly windy and gusty and we have had a lot of rough sea conditions around us. A lot of strong gusts of wind around us at the moment, not nearly what we are going to expect for sure, but it’s fairly destructive. I understand it’s going to get worse in the afternoon. We have had some guests still with us on the island. We are keeping them busy and entertained. Weather conditions certainly have a major turn for the worse in the last two hours where there are some very strong gusts at the moment.”
