Thousands of residents of Lami and the surrounding areas will enjoy the facilities of their own recreational park in less than a month.

The much awaited Tikaram Park in Lami is nearing completion.

Lami Town Council Special Administrator Jasper Singh says the Tikaram will be ready within the next three weeks.

Singh says the park will have the senior citizens, kids area which is a play area and volley ball courts.

Government had provided $585,000 for the initial project however Singh says they will be putting more add ons to the park.

_"We will be putting add ons to that such as an outdoor screen, and we also looking at more solar street lights, we looking at another canteen , more bure and sitting facility. This is all our add ons which we realized that there may be demand for this."

Singh says they will also upgrade the Johnny Singh Park which is the only playing field in Lami. The Government has provided funding for the initial project.
