Three suspects in court for alleged involvement in drug related activities

Three people are expected to appear in court today for their alleged involvement in drug related activities.
A forty-two year old man and a thirty-one year old woman from Lautoka have been charged with one count each of found in possession of illicit drugs.
The two will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court.
A raid was conducted at the home of the male suspect in Lautoka on Thursday after information was received of the suspect’s alleged involvement in drug related activities.
Police Officers suspected he had disposed the drugs before the raid.
The Police sought the assistance of officers from the Water Authority which led to a process of extracting parcels from the sewer line.
This eventually led to the discovery of close to 30 parcels believed to be marijuana.
The leaves were sent for analysis and confirmed to be marijuana.
Meanwhile, a thirty-three-year-old self employed man in Nakasi charged with two counts of being in possession of illicit drugs will be produced in the Nasinu Magistrates Court.
A drug raid conducted in the Eastern Division last week resulted in the seizure of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and apparatus allegedly used for manufacturing the drugs.
